Fitch upgrades NORD/LB’s Standalone Rating

Fitch Ratings has upgraded NORD/LB Norddeutsche Landesbank’s Standalone Rating (Viability Rating) from ‘bbb-’ to ‘bbb’. The Bank’s Long-Term Rating of ‘AA-’, which is linked to the rating of the German Savings Banks Finance Group, was affirmed. The Outlook remains Stable.

The upgrade of the Stand-alone Rating reflects Fitch’s improved assessment of NORD/LB’s business profile. According to the rating agency, despite its smaller size compared with other Landesbanken, NORD/LB’s business model should enable the Bank to generate adequate new business volumes while maintaining sound asset quality in line with its risk profile.
