Reports
Sustainability is a core principle of our responsible corporate governance. It underpins the way we manage environmental and social impacts, enhance risk transparency and support long term value creation.
Our reports create transparency about key ESG aspects, document progress and make material impacts, opportunities and risks traceable. Our reporting follows recognised standards and meets regulatory requirements such as the ESRS. It enables our stakeholders to understand how we manage environmental and social impacts, strengthen governance structures and shape our role in the transformation process.
In this way, our reporting landscape ensures that sustainability-relevant information is consistent, comparable and relevant to decision-making – for our customers, investors and society.
Policy Documents
Our policy documents establish the binding framework for responsible conduct. They define the values, principles and regulatory standards that shape our daily work – from compliance and data protection to human rights and sustainability requirements. As a public bank, we are thus creating reliability, orientation and transparency for employees, partners and our customers.
Environmental
As NORD/LB, we assume ecological responsibility – in our core business as well as in our own operations. To this end, we are developing sector-specific decarbonisation pathways, measuring financed emissions using recognised methodologies such as PCAF and PACTA, and gradually steering our credit and investment portfolios towards the goals of the Paris Climate Agreement. We also support our customers in their transformation. We are also continuously developing our own environmental impact. We are working to reduce emissions caused by operations, reduce energy consumption and systematically integrate climate-relevant factors into our internal processes. In this way, we combine climate protection in our core business with a responsible design of our own business operations.
Social
We are responsible for the people we work with – within the organisation as well as along our supply and value chains. Our aim is to make social standards transparent, to implement them consistently and to continuously develop them further. In order to document this claim in a comprehensible way, we publish central guidelines and reports that reflect our commitment in this area. Together, they show how we understand and live social responsibility – from fair working conditions to diversity and equal opportunities to human rights due diligence in our business relationships.
Governance
Responsible, transparent and compliant corporate governance is the basis of our actions. We are committed to ensuring clear structures, comprehensible decision-making processes and effective control mechanisms. For us, governance means implementing integrity, professionalism and transparency in our organisation. Our governance publications provide an overview of the guiding principles, roles, processes and standards that guide our actions. They document how we assume corporate responsibility, manage risks and ensure that the bank develops accordingly.
