Dr Hinrich Holm, Deputy Chairman of the Managing Board of NORD/LB and responsible for Financial Markets, will be leaving the bank when his contract expires on 31 January 2020. Dr Holm has been on the Managing Board of NORD/LB since 2010, with official residence in Magdeburg. Since 2012, he has been responsible for Financial Markets, and was appointed Deputy Chairman of the Managing Board at the start of 2017.

"In Hinrich Holm, NORD/LB is losing an outstanding manager," explained Reinhold Hilbers, Chair of the Supervisory Board at NORD/LB and Finance Minister for Lower Saxony. "The business segments that he has managed for the bank during his time in the organisation have undergone extraordinary development. As a proven financial expert and born-and-bred native of Lower Saxony with extensive experience abroad, he has been a real asset for the Managing Board at NORD/LB. We regret his departure. We owe him our gratitude for his achievements."

"Hinrich Holm’s leaving is a real loss for NORD/LB. There is almost no-one else who knows the bank as well as he does. Over the many years of working together for the NORD/LB Group, I have come to appreciate him not just as a manager, but as a person," said Thomas Bürkle, Chair of the Managing Board of NORD/LB. "It is not just the Financial Markets segment of the bank that he has left a significant mark on in recent years. The other segments he has been responsible for, such as the Asia business and the financing of energy and infrastructure projects, have seen successful development under his leadership. Hinrich Holm has also played an important role in the current restructuring of the bank that is intended to make NORD/LB significantly more streamlined and efficient."

As part of the realignment and redimensioning of NORD/LB, Hinrich Holm’s position will not be filled after he leaves us. Responsibility for the business segment he was in charge of will be divided among the other Managing Board members. The bank is thus initiating a reduction of the Managing Board in line with the reduction in the workforce.

Dr Holm (54) came to NORD/LB in 1996. After holding positions in New York and Vilnius, where he joined the Managing Board of the former NORD/LB Lithuania, the Doctor of Mathematics took over leadership for the Finance department of NORD/LB in 2005. In 2010, he was appointed to the Managing Board of NORD/LB. He was initially responsible for the Finance, Organisation/IT and Corporate Services segments. In 2012 he took on leadership for the bank's Financial Markets segment. He was most recently responsible for the Structured Finance segment and the Asia business of the bank. Dr Holm has been Deputy Chairman of NORD/LB since the start of 2017.

Dr Holm holds numerous positions on supervisory and administrative boards, as well as on boards of trustees. Among other roles, he is a member of the Supervisory Board at LBS Norddeutsche Landesbausparkasse, and of the Administrative Board of Investitionsbank Sachsen-Anhalt. He is also Chair of the Exchange Council at the Lower-Saxony Stock Exchange in Hanover.
