Business year 2012

NORD/LB Norddeutsche Landesbank closed the financial year 2012 with a consolidated profit before taxes and reorganisation expenses of EUR 129 million, while its consolidated profit after taxes totalled EUR 80 million. While net interest income, the most important source of income in the bank’s operational business, increased significantly, the profit was reduced in particular by an increase in loan loss provisions in ship financing and currency-related valuation effects. In the previous year the bank achieved a consolidated profit before taxes of EUR 536 million, although this was boosted by special effects.

Business year 2009

NORD/LB Norddeutsche Landesbank held its ground in a challenging environment in the financial year 2009. The Group's earnings rose for the first time to over EUR 2 billion and therefore confirm the business model which has proven itself in the crisis. At the same time the NORD/LB Group has significantly increased its risk provisions in order to prepare itself for any further possible impact of the financial crisis on credit markets.

Business year 2008

The NORD/LB Group closed fiscal 2008 with a positive pre-tax operating result of 22 million euros and a consolidated result of 151 million euros after tax. In spite of the difficult global economic environment, NORD/LB succeeded in achieving slightly increased earnings from its operative business. Thus the bank more than compensated for the enlarged loan loss provisions as well as temporary valuation effects arising in particular as result of the international financial crisis.

Business year 2007

NORD/LB Norddeutsche Landesbank was once again able to raise its operating income in the 2007 accounting period despite a tense situation on international financial markets. Interest and commission income in particular were significantly raised.
